Do you have experience in the delivery of general insurance pricing models? AXA Retail have an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to join their Pricing and Analytics department and be accountable for the delivery and quality of all pricing models. This will include claims cost, market models, and other optimisation input models.

You’ll collaborate effectively across AXA Retail to support our strategy and develop an ongoing programme of model refreshes, that allocates resource in keeping with our ambition.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at our London office, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Accountable for claims, market, and optimisation input models.
  • Develop ongoing programme of model refreshes that allocates resource in keeping with our strategy.
  • Ensure models are refreshed on a timely basis and in line with all Governance and Group standards.
  • Promote innovation and new techniques to improve all pricing models, working closely with Data Science and ML teams.
  • Review the impact on customers of pricing actions and act on this.
  • Responsible for timely and fair evaluation and onboarding of new external data sources.
  • Collaborate effectively across AXA Retail to support our strategy.
  • Lead our Modelling department, coaching and developing direct reports.

  • Risk pricing expertise – essential.
  • Leadership experience of a team of direct reports - essential.
  • Data and risk modelling background – preferred.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
