Academics is seeking an experienced Head of Prep School in Hertsmere to lead the entire Prep School community. The role focuses on strategic and day-to-day leadership, ensuring high teaching standards, safeguarding, and strong collaboration with parents and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will drive curriculum excellence, staff development and a nurturing environment where pupils thrive and progress is monitored closely.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience within a primary or Prep School setting.
• Strong knowledge of teaching, learning and the curriculum.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• The ability to inspire, motivate and develop staff.
• Strong organisation and strategic leadership skills.
• A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.

• Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership across the Prep School.
• Lead and inspire teaching and support staff, promoting high standards and professional development.
• Ensure excellent standards of teaching, learning and pupil progress.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive and nurturing school environment.
• Work closely with parents and the wider school community.
• Support the development and implementation of the school's vision and priorities.
• Monitor standards, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team and wider school.
