Role overview: The CL Re Investment Office, part of Lifeco Global Investment, manages assets of C$15bn and aims to grow further. The Head of Portfolio Management will help implement and oversee investment strategies, coordinate with stakeholders, and manage portfolios to meet ALM and SAA targets. The role involves working with Lifeco managers and third-party investment managers, executing investment strategies, and supporting asset growth in global markets. The environment is fast-paced, offering exposure to all investment process aspects.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and executing liability-driven investment strategies.
• Proposing asset and hedging strategies to optimize capital return.
• Supporting new business pricing with asset-related assumptions.
• Collaborating with investment managers for transaction execution.
• Negotiating investment guidelines and treaty terms.
• Implementing transactions and managing operational aspects.
• Monitoring investment mandates and performance.
• Driving tactical asset allocation and managing asset portfolios.
• Engaging in risk management, performance analysis, and infrastructure build-out.

Qualifications:

• Experience in life reinsurance, PRT insurer, or investment management, focusing on liability-driven credit investing.
• Knowledge of collateralized reinsurance, derivatives, interest rate markets, and structuring solutions.
• Quantitative skills and experience supporting ALM and pricing models.
• CFA qualification and/or relevant degree with extensive experience.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Teamwork and collaboration skills, with a passion for operational excellence.
