Job description

Social network you want to login/join with:

We’re a young, dynamic, creative and entrepreneurial consulting firm on a mission.

Everything we do is about social impact. Over the last seven years, we’ve become a respected, trusted source of advice and support to clients across central Government, and in the education and training sectors – working closely with our client colleagues on a wide variety of public service design, commissioning and delivery programmes.

Having successfully established the firm, we’re ready to take the next step. We recently agreed on an ambitious new strategy, through which we are diversifying into the health and social care sector and expanding our suite of customer propositions – including supporting customers’ digital and data-driven transformation.

To support this diversification and growth, we need to ‘turn our light on’ in a way that we haven’t before. Our growth so far has been driven by our team’s expertise, reputation, and customer relationships; we have done little structured market research, thought leadership, or digital marketing. It is time to start raising our profile.

We are seeking someone with policy, communications, and marketing expertise to lead a sustained, savvy brand-building effort—working independently to produce substantive thought leadership and marketing content, and representing the firm at sector events and networks to extend our reputation and relationships.

While we are committed to investing in a broad-based brand-building effort, the success of the role will be judged in commercial terms, supporting customer acquisition, sales, and revenue growth. To succeed, you will need an entrepreneurial growth mindset and high expectations.

Role specification

The post holder will be accountable for defining, maintaining, and delivering a sustained, outcome-focused brand-building effort aligned with the firm’s growth plans. This will likely include:

  • Developing and implementing a diverse digital and social marketing programme, including ownership of the firm’s website, LinkedIn, and other social media accounts.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to produce thought leadership on relevant topics that resonate with our customers’ policy and operational contexts.
  • Identifying events, forums, and networks for representation; personally representing the firm at these events, and initiating conversations with potential partners and clients.
  • Engaging with and maintaining relationships with partner organizations sharing the firm’s sector interests, to co-develop thought leadership, new products, or meet consulting requirements.
  • Collaborating closely with the firm’s sales teams to align policy and partnership activities with sales efforts, and monitoring and evolving plans accordingly.
  • Conducting market, segment, and client research to support branding and sales activities.
  • Providing support, coaching, and training to junior colleagues to help build their personal brands, marketing skills, and networks.
Person specification
  • High levels of ambition, energy, and resilience aligned with growth plans.
  • Experience in entrepreneurial, commercial, and creative organizational contexts, delivering high-quality work and driving growth.
  • Experience working with senior leaders in fast-paced environments to translate strategy into action.
  • Proven ability to independently manage diverse marketing, communications, and policy responsibilities.
  • Domain expertise in policy, communications, or digital marketing, preferably within relevant sectors.
  • High precision and pride in work quality, reflecting a consistent approach to excellence.
Working location

At least two days per week based in the firm’s Farringdon office.

Package
  • Salary £50-70k, depending on experience.
  • Up to 20% bonus based on performance.
  • 25 days’ annual leave, increasing to 30 days within five years.
  • Private medical and dental insurance.
  • 4% pension contributions.
