Job summary

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Head of the Programme Management Office to lead the PMO, CIP and the broader financial improvement portfolio. The post will drive strong governance, assurance and delivery of major transformation initiatives.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Sustainability, the role shapes organisational strategy and cross-cutting programmes, influencing productivity and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in a large, complex organisation.
• Experience delivering financial improvement and productivity programmes.
• Ability to develop PMO operating models, governance and reporting standards.
• Member of a professional body in programme/portfolio management or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Trust's PMO, delivering high-quality programme and portfolio management.
• Establish and maintain PMO operating model aligned to priorities and financial sustainability.
• Develop and apply standards, methodologies and assurance frameworks.
• Provide governance, assurance and performance monitoring across the portfolio.
• Ensure accurate reporting to governance forums and executive sponsors.
• Lead benefits realisation and collaborate with Finance to demonstrate financial benefits.
• Lead PMO team development, workforce planning and budget oversight.
• Promote knowledge management and lessons learned.
