Job summary

Trust In SODA seeks a Head of Platform Engineering to own the strategy for a platform engineering function of about 20 engineers. Drive cloud infrastructure direction, self-service tooling and pipelines to accelerate product delivery, with success measured by DORA metrics.

The role requires leading internal and external engineers, deep cloud knowledge (AWS/GCP), and experience with Terraform/Ansible, monitoring, and senior stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineering teams of 15+ (internal and external).
• Strong knowledge of AWS and GCP cloud platforms.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Monitoring, logging and alerting capabilities.
• Stakeholder management up to senior leadership level.
• Telecoms, start-up or PE-backed experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

Do you want to step into a senior leadership role where you'll own the strategy for a platform engineering function of 20~ engineers?

My client are a UK telecoms business with a strong focus on customer experience, and they're investing heavily in the platform that underpins their products.

They now have a requirement for a Head of Platform Engineering to lead a team of internal and external engineers, set the direction for their cloud infrastructure, and build the self-service tooling and pipelines that let their product teams deliver faster. Success will be measured against DORA metrics, so you'll be driving improvements in deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate and recovery time.

Their ideal candidate would have good knowledge of:

• Leading engineering teams of 15+ (internal and external)
• AWS & GCP
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
• Monitoring, logging & alerting
