Job summary

Rivencore Global Solutions in Poole, Dorset, seeks a Head of Production Planning to lead a planning team, optimise schedules and ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products. The role works closely with the Operations Director to drive performance, continuous improvement and business success.

You will oversee scheduling, control works orders and KPI reporting while collaborating across departments to resolve operational challenges and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in production planning or manufacturing operations.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems and production scheduling.
• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Production Planning Team to foster collaboration and accountability.
• Oversee production planning, scheduling and Works Order management to meet delivery commitments.
• Monitor production progress, manage changing priorities and address delivery risks.
• Maintain accurate production schedules, stock levels, lead times and invoicing programmes.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Contracts and other departments to support projects.
• Monitor and report KPIs to support decision-making and performance improvement.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Support compliance with quality, health and safety, and environmental standards.
• Coach and develop team members, supporting performance, training and growth.

Are you an experienced production planning leader ready to make a real impact? Rivencore Global Solutions is looking for a Head of Production Planning to lead our planning team, optimise production schedules and ensure the efficient, on-time delivery of high-quality products to our customers.

Working closely with the Operations Director and teams across the business, you’ll play a key role in driving operational performance, continuous improvement and business success.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Production Planning Team, fostering collaboration, accountability and a positive working culture.
• Oversee production planning, scheduling and Works Order management to meet customer delivery commitments.
• Monitor production progress, manage changing priorities and proactively address potential delivery risks.
• Maintain accurate production schedules, stock levels, lead times and invoice programmes.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Contracts and other departments to support projects and resolve operational challenges.
• Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs), providing insight to support effective decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Support compliance with quality, health and safety, and environmental standards.
• Coach and develop team members, supporting performance, training and professional growth.

About You

You’ll bring proven leadership experience in production planning or manufacturing operations, alongside:

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chains and production scheduling.
• Excellent working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
• Effective communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to lead, motivate and develop a team while managing competing priorities.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement, with an understanding of Lean and Six Sigma principles.
• Strong commercial awareness and a focus on customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
