Job summary

A leading construction company based in Manchester is looking for an ambitious Planning professional to join their tunnelling construction team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Civil Engineering and be a Chartered Engineer. Responsibilities include providing program updates, managing resources, and setting up project controls. Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Civil Engineering, Building and Utilities.
• Clear understanding of commercial and contractual forms of contracts.
• Full clean driving license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide regular programme updates on all projects within the business.
• Identify and promote planning resources with appropriate skill sets.
• Set up project controls for each contract and produce KPI reports.

• Membership of professional Institution.

• Extensive experience in Civil Engineering, Building and Utilities.
• Clear understanding of commercial and contractual forms of contract.
• Computer literate and good working knowledge of Primavera (LatestVersion) and Microsoft Project.

• Provide an overall programme update on a regular basis of ALL the projects within the business.
• Identify recruit/promote planning resource with the appropriate skill sets to carry out the functions to support the business.
• Identify and provide suitable training that enhances the planning function’s capability and keeps up with technological changes.
• Primavera P6 is the Groups preferred platform.
• Set up project controls appropriate to each contract and produce KPI’s agreed with regional and group boards on a daily/ weekly/ monthly basis that can be rolled up to provide a Group dashboard of performance.
• Actively support and contribute to work winning, provide that smooth transition from work winning to Projects.
• Set up, maintain an overall staff/ operative and plant forecasting management tool.
• Set up workshops to gain consistency in reporting across the group.
• Interact with Project Controls.
