Head of Philanthropy (Music)

They take great pride in the exceptional quality of their music-making and now have a rewarding opportunity for a Head of Philanthropy to support and sustain this much-valued aspect of their work.

To ensure the long-term future of their music department, the organisation is working to establish a secure financial foundation. They are looking to build new relationships and create a dedicated fund that will help this important tradition thrive for years to come. To support this goal, they are seeking an individual with the skills and experience to help drive this mission forward.

The purpose of this new role is to lead on fundraising efforts. The postholder will excel at building relationships with people, speak with genuine passion about the organisation’s musical offering and be able to cultivate relationships with potential donors to the fund. This role will suit a flexible, self-motivated people person who thrives in a varied and interesting role.

Key Points

- A full-time permanent role. 35 hours per week, able to be worked flexibly by agreement, including the option for hybrid working.

- Salary £54,565pa.

- Travel will be required using own transport with reimbursed expenses.

- You will work as part of a hardworking, dedicated team.

Primary Responsibilities

- Represent the organisation and its musical offer.

- Oversee all aspects of the organisation's Fund and its growth.

- Raise funds for the music department.

- Write and deliver a philanthropy strategy.

- Plan and deliver events and engagement opportunities for potential donors.

- Identify and engage with potential donors and cultivate lasting relationships.

- Work with the music department to maximise fundraising within choir’s activities.

- Work with the Music Fundraising Committee.

- Oversee, review, refresh, and take the lead on existing music groups and their development.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

- Provide reports and KPI data as required.

Some organisations may refer to this role as Head of Fundraising, Director of Development, Head of Income Generation, or Head of Major Giving.
