Job summary

Twickenham School, part of Bourne Education Trust, is seeking a Head of PE to lead the department and drive teaching standards across the key stage 3-4 curriculum. This full-time, permanent post starts 1 January 2027 and offers a salary on the Teachers’ Main - Upper Pay Scale (Outer) £37,870–£56,154 plus a £5,867 TLR, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent registration is essential.
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
• Experience in coordinating a subject or leading a department is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure excellent standards of teaching and learning across the PE department.
• Take responsibility for the strategic overview of the department, including self-evaluation and the department improvement plan.
• Monitor student progress and implement strategic interventions for the department.
