GSL Education s London branch is looking for a Head of PE to join a vibrant co-educational comprehensive secondary school in the heart of Tower Hamlets. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Head of PE who is ready to lead, inspire and shape the physical education department from September 2025.

Are you a dynamic and committed Head of PE with a proven track record of delivering engaging lessons, motivating students, and leading a team? If yes, we want to hear from you!

This role is perfect for a male Head of PE who is enthusiastic about promoting health, fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship across the whole school community. You ll play a key role in developing the school s PE curriculum and driving forward extra-curricular sports activities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the PE department across Key Stages 3 to 5

• Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons that motivate and engage students

• Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and departmental development

• Promote inclusive participation in sports and physical activities

• Organise and lead sports teams, fixtures, and extra-curricular clubs

• Monitor student progress and work closely with other departments

• Manage PE resources and ensure a safe, supportive environment

• Support and mentor other PE staff and trainee teachers

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK

• Previous experience as a Head of PE or as a senior PE teacher ready for the next step

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire a team

• Passion for sports and physical education

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• A commitment to the wellbeing and development of all students
