Wales Netball is looking for an experienced and passionate leader to step into the role of Head of Participation on a maternity cover basis.
This pivotal position oversees all aspects of grassroots and community netball in Wales, driving delivery of the ‘Bigger’ strand of our Wales Netball 2030 strategy. From National Competitions, Clubs & Leagues, and Schools & Universities to Coaching & Officiating pathways and innovative participation programmes — this role ensures netball is thriving, accessible, and growing across all corners of Wales.

As the most popular female sport in Wales (2022 School Sport Survey), netball enjoys a strong foundation — but there is significant untapped potential. The Head of Participation will identify new opportunities, lead on inclusive growth, and champion fresh formats to expand our reach and increase membership of the National Governing Body.

This is a fixed-term role within our Senior Leadership Team.

Terms of Appointment
Role: Full-Time, Fixed-Term Maternity Cover – Start in post June 2025 to July 2026
Remuneration: £37,000-£42,000 (Depending on experience)
Annual Leave: 25 days per year, excluding bank holidays
Location: Sport Wales National Centre, Cardiff (with some Home Working available, as agreed with the successful candidate)
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer
