Job description

We are Allwyn UK, part of the Allwyn Entertainment Group – a multi-national lottery operator with a market-leading presence across Europe which includes: Czech Republic, Austria, Greece, Cyprus & Italy.

While the main contribution of The National Lottery to society is through the funds to good causes, at Allwyn we put our purpose and values at the heart of everything we do. Join us as we embark on a once-in-a-lifetime, largescale transformation journey by creating a National Lottery that delivers more money to good causes.

We’ll talk a bit more about us further down the page, but for now – let’s talk about the role and who we’re looking for…

A bit about the role…

Lead Allwyn's Participant Interests strategy by combining regulatory excellence, customer insight, digital innovation and external best practice to create safe, sustainable player experiences that support commercial growth and maximise returns to Good Causes

The Participant Interests team leads the business on responsible play. We are considered subject matter experts and work extensively with internal and external stakeholders to identify, address and manage PI activities that align with our world-leading ambition and our regulatory requirements. We work closely with commercial functions to enable the business to achieve its ambitious commercial goals and unlock growth opportunities. We are outward looking, always seeking to learn about best practice from other companies and external stakeholders, and managing reputational risks associated with PI.

What you’ll be doing…
  • Act as the organisation's expert on emerging external trends, regulation, responsible play, digital consumer protection and player wellbeing, translating insights into strategy and action.
  • Develop and embed PI strategy and plans aligned to international best practice and doing “all we can”
  • Partner with Product, Digital, Marketing and Commercial teams to design responsible-by-design customer experiences and identify opportunities that drive customer trust, engagement and sustainable growth.
  • Where necessary, provide independent challenge and strategic guidance to commercial teams, ensuring growth initiatives are balanced against participant protection obligations, customer wellbeing considerations and reputational risk
  • Lead on the evaluation and improvement of the PI plan, aligned to overall strategy
  • Work cross-functionally to embed PI initiatives and requirements aligned to overall strategy, and in alignment with licence requirements
  • Lead the PI team’s annual planning process and strategic development
  • Line manage the two Senior PI Managers, who are responsible for day-to-day delivery
  • Ensure cross-functional projects are compliant with the requirements of the Responsible Gaming Framework and strategy
  • Ensure key internal and external stakeholders and governance groups, e.g. PPSG, PPAG are included in decision making and kept up to date with progress (including proposing agendas, preparing materials, briefing Execs ahead of external stakeholder meetings etc.)
  • Utilise data, behavioural insight and technology to measure effectiveness and develop innovative participant protection interventions. Lead on functional compliance and risk activities
  • Prepare high quality materials for Exec-level forums, Board and Gambling Commission
What experience we’re looking for…
  • Proven track record of leading customer protection, responsible play or consumer risk strategies, leveraging data, insight and external best practice to influence business outcomes
  • An excellent understanding of consumer protection practices and the gaming industry
  • Experience in developing strategies
  • Experienced at presenting information and constructing clear reports and persuasive arguments
  • Involvement in meetings with senior and executive management, including leading discussions
  • Ability to analyse data at a high level
  • Previous experience of managing and leading projects
  • Knowledge and practical experience of working with external benchmarks
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
Key Measures of Success:
  • Overall plans delivered on time, high quality and on budget
  • PI plan effective at meeting licence conditions and unlocking growth opportunities
  • Risk and compliance activities completed on time
  • Excellent internal stakeholder relationships and positive external stakeholder relationships as required
