To take things to the next level, we’re looking for a sharp, structured, and commercially-minded Head of Paid Search to expand capacity in and scale one of our most strategically important growth engines.Our ideal candidate has experience of delivering amazing results in a direct to consumer business.

Your Mission

You’ll take the reins on building and optimising our customer acquisition machine – from setting strategy across paid channels, to running structured experiments and scaling what works. You’ll have a huge amount of autonomy and responsibility from day one, and the opportunity to define what excellent performance marketing at Carmoola really means.

This is a high-impact role for someone who loves digging into data, understands what makes an ad resonate and convert — not just what performs, but why, and thrives in fast-paced, high-ownership environments.

What You’ll Be Doing

Data and Analytics

  • Build and execute structured testing and measurement frameworks for performance marketing.
  • Set up data pipelines to collect, clean, and organise acquisition data consistently.
  • Build and maintain automated dashboards for real-time performance monitoring.
  • Analyse funnel and campaign data to identify patterns, optimise spend, and improve outcomes.

Google Paid Search

  • Own and scale all Google Ads activity, with full responsibility for strategy, execution, and performance.
  • Monitor and optimise campaigns through a systematic, segment-level framework, that supports rapid scale, whilst delivering profitable growth.
  • Analyse full-funnel performance — from impression to conversion — and implement a test-and-learn approach to unlock new opportunities.

AI and Automation

  • Leverage AI tools to streamline creative production, automate reporting workflows, and enhance decision-making.
  • Experiment with generative AI (video, image) and predictive models to improve efficiency and campaign effectiveness.
  • Build and test automation scripts to optimise workflows across performance marketing activities.
  • Work directly with content creators to systematically improve ad production and the number of winning ads, whilst adhering to brand guidelines .

Full-Funnel and Cross-Functional Impact

  • Build and own a detailed performance marketing roadmap with clear goals, timelines, and accountability.
  • Align Paid Search targeting, bidding, and creative strategies with broader initiatives in brand, credit, CRM, and pricing.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting for real-time insights and agile optimisation.

Support broader growth initiatives, including optimising App Store presence and collaborating with affiliate agencies.

What You’ll Bring
  • Experience of delivering amazing results in a direct to consumer business
  • Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in a STEM or numerical subject.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing and scaling Google Ad campaigns with measurable impact in a performance-driven environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering and optimising video and static ad creatives independently.
  • Fluency with key tools — Google Ads, GA4, Google Tag Manager, Meta Ads Manager, video editing tools, and creative testing frameworks.
  • Solid foundation in data and analytics, with experience using AI tools to drive efficiency and impact.
  • Structured thinker — you impose clarity on complex, ambiguous problems and navigate uncertainty with a clear, methodical approach.
  • Fast learner and self-starter — you pick up new tools, strategies, and concepts quickly and independently.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, complex environments — you’re comfortable with ambiguity and figure things out as you go.
  • Organised and deadline-driven — you manage multiple priorities and consistently deliver high-quality results.
