Job summary

Space4Autism in Macclesfield seeks a hands-on Business & Operations Manager to partner with the CEO, drive day-to-day operations, and translate strategy into action. You will oversee budgets, funding, people, and governance, while shaping plans and reporting to the Trustee Board.

The role demands strong leadership, financial discipline, and a track record of scaling services in a charity context. Office-based, UK-wide fundraising occasional events may occur.

Qualifications

• Strong business management and operational leadership experience.
• Proven financial and budget management capability.
• Experience managing people, teams, and organisational processes.
• Sound knowledge of governance and compliance, including regulatory frameworks, safeguarding, and best practice.

Responsibilities

• Business planning & strategy: shape, implement, and monitor the business plan; attend Trustee Board meetings and contribute insights.
• Budgets & finance: support budget planning, monitoring, and reporting; manage spend with finance team.
• Funding & income: help drive funding strategy and income diversification; track grant deadlines.
• Operations: ensure smooth day-to-day running, improve systems, manage risks, support governance.
• People Management & Leadership: line manage the team, lead recruitment, onboarding, performance, development.
• Policy & governance: develop policies, ensure compliance, support governance reporting.
