Job description

Head of Operations

Location: London-based

Reports to: CEO

Start date: ASAP

Salary: Competitive with equity options

1. Headline Summary

We’re looking for a high-performing, hands-on Head of Operations to help scale Puresport through its next phase of growth without losing what makes us special. You’ll build the operational engine behind a mission-led brand, taking ownership of everything from supply chain and systems to forecasting, product launches and team development.

You need to be someone who thrives on scaling excellence without cutting corners.

2. About Puresport

Puresport is a performance wellness brand built For the Long Run, here to challenge shortcut culture and raise the standard and set a new benchmark for the category.

In an industry crowded with noise, gimmicks and overpromises, we’re building something different, products rooted in science, a brand grounded in trust and a community powered by real progress.

Our growth has been fast and mission-driven. In the past 24 months, we’ve more than doubled revenue, launched breakthrough products across performance, recovery, and hydration, and built one of the UK’s most active and engaged communities, both online and in real life.

Now, as we scale from high-growth startup to operationally elite brand, we’re looking for someone who cares as deeply as we do about product quality, customer trust and building a business that lasts.

3. The Role

As Head of Operations, you’ll own the end-to-end operational performance of the business. This is a role for a builder, someone who can identify, design, lead, and scale systems that support omnichannel growth across e-commerce, retail and international markets.

You’ll be responsible for making sure the right products are in the right place at the right time profitably, reliably, and with quality baked in at every step. You’ll also be a key member of the senior leadership team, working closely with the CEO and heads of Finance, Commercial, Marketing and our Scientific Advisor.

This is a rare opportunity to help shape the systems, people and culture that will take Puresport to the next level and to play an integral role in building a category-defining brand.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the end-to-end supply chain: from sourcing and manufacturing to warehousing and final delivery, ensuring a smooth, scalable operation.
  • Lead the NPD process: manage product development timelines from brief to launch, including supplier sourcing, sampling, testing, compliance and go-to-market readiness.
  • Build smart forecasting and inventory systems that balance availability, cash flow and growth, supporting both D2C and retail channels.
  • Work closely with the Head of Commercial to align demand planning with sales priorities, from managing stock flow and upcoming promotional periods to ensuring operational readiness for key launches and retail moments.
  • Implement and optimise our operations tech stack: including ERP and inventory systems to drive visibility and efficiency across the business.
  • Manage 3PL and logistics partners to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery across the UK and international markets.
  • Drive cost efficiency across COGS, freight, packaging, and production, without compromising product quality or customer experience.
  • Lead retail operations: ensuring smooth delivery, stock availability and readiness for big commercial moments.
  • Ensure quality and compliance: working closely with suppliers and internal teams to uphold the highest standards across all products.
  • Prepare the business for scale: by professionalising processes, introducing automation and using data to drive better decisions.
  • Build and lead a top-tier ops team: hiring, developing and inspiring operators to grow with the business.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Finance, and Retail to deliver seamless execution of company priorities.
  • Be a key member of the leadership team: shaping company strategy and culture as we scale.
  • Serve as a key link between sales ambition and operational execution, ensuring strategy and supply are in sync across channels.
  • Be a safe pair of hands: take things off the CEO’s desk, not add to it.

5. What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in Operations
  • A proven track record of scaling operations in high-growth consumer brands, ideally from £10M to £30M+ revenue
  • Deep supply chain experience, especially in supplements, food, wellness, or FMCG
  • Hands-on expertise in demand planning, stock forecasting, and supply chain optimisation
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness, you know how operations impacts margin, cash, and scale
  • A calm, solutions-focused mindset, you bring structure to chaos and act decisively under pressure
  • A belief in high standards, team culture, and mission-led growth, you do the right thing, even when no one is watching.

Bonus Experience (Not Required, But Highly Valuable):

  • Direct experience managing international logistics and 3PL relationships, particularly in EU and US markets
  • Knowledge of product compliance standards in international markets (e.g., labelling, supplements, customs)
  • Proven success in implementing ERP systems or inventory management tools to enable omni-channel operations across D2C, retail, and wholesale

6. Why This Is a Unique Opportunity

This is more than a job, it’s a chance to build the operational foundations of one of the UK’s most exciting brands. You’ll be joining at a moment of real momentum, with strong product-market fit, a powerful brand mission and a clear path to growth.

You’ll work directly with the CEO, help shape the senior team and influence every part of how we scale from systems and suppliers to team and culture.

If you’ve been waiting for the opportunity to build something meaningful and do it with a team that’s in it For the Long Run, we’d love to hear from you.
