About the Role

We’re proud to be partnering with a highly successful manufacturing business in Cheshire to recruit a Head of Operations. This is a pivotal, senior leadership role offering a clear and direct pathway to becoming Operations Director within 18 months, making it an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious operational leader.

As Head of Operations, you’ll take full ownership of daily operations, driving performance, efficiency, and quality across the board. You’ll lead a skilled team, implement best-in-class practices, and work closely with the senior leadership team to shape and execute strategic plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations across the production facility
• Drive continuous improvement using lean manufacturing principles
• Ensure high standards of quality, safety, and output are consistently met
• Develop and lead a high-performing operations team
• Collaborate cross-functionally with department heads to meet business objectives
• Maintain and analyse KPIs to drive operational efficiency and profitability
• Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations
• Optimise planning and scheduling processes to meet customer and production demands
• Lead ERP system utilisation for improved planning and reporting
• Present operational insights and performance updates to senior management and the board
• Coach, mentor and develop operational staff at all levels

About You

• Proven experience in a senior operations or manufacturing management role
• Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential – we welcome candidates from a range of manufacturing sectors
• Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, proactive management style
• In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving abilities
• Strategic thinker with the drive to progress into an executive leadership position
