Introduction

The Corporate Resilience Team works to ensure the resilience of both Houses through planning, training and exercising. It sits within the Office of the Executive which supports the Executive and facilitates the delivery of strategic priorities across the organisation.

The Role

Working within this team, this post will focus on the provision of subject matter expertise for operational resilience across both Houses.

The post holder will work closely with teams in delivering an effective approach within an organisational resilience model. They will ensure that the House Services are aligned to appropriate standards and ensure that a robust management system is in place.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

  • Ensure that the House Services and PDS business resilience arrangements are fit for purpose and are aligning to the operational resilience standard.
  • Using data to report on arrangements to the Business Resilience Board and where inadequate arrangements or significant non‐conformities have been identified.
  • Ensure that Business Continuity Plan (BCP) owners in business areas provide regular and controlled updates of their business continuity plans and provide audit reports to BRG
  • Organise appropriate resilience training and support for all levels of staff, including duty response teams, and review its effectiveness after use

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Currently hold or willing to work towards, a qualification and / or professional membership in a business continuity, emergency planning or incident management discipline e.g. certified membership of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive working relationships and influence people at all levels within the organisation including a challenging customer base.
  • Experience of developing and implementing effective business continuity strategies.
  • Experience and competence in drafting and delivering relevant exercises and training.
  • Proven ability to provide leadership, set strategic objectives, develop and motivate teams to deliver results across formal reporting lines.
  • Experience of successfully managing a project or programme to meet business objectives within a structured environment. Knowledge of MSP, PRINCE 2 or similar an advantage.
  • Ability to think strategically, anticipating and managing high-level risks and uncertainties.
