Role overview

The Head of Operational Reporting & Analytics will lead the strategic design, development, and delivery of operational reporting and analytics across operations. This role is critical in enabling data-driven decision-making, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance within the Hastings operations value chain. The postholder will work closely with senior leadership, data engineering, and the operational teams to ensure reporting capabilities align with business goals, customer expectations, and industry best practices.

Job details – you’ll need to have demonstrable experience in:

Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for operational reporting and analytics aligned with both operational and company goals

Lead and inspire a team of reporting specialists and data professionals to deliver high-impact insights and performance metrics

Partner with operational functions to identify performance drivers, opportunities, and risks through advanced analytics

Drive continuous improvement in MI/BI reporting capabilities and data visualisation

Leverage tools like Power BI, Tableau and SQL to derive actionable insights from complex datasets

Enable predictive analytics and automation to improve operational efficiency and customer outcomes

Essential skills/experience:

Proven experience in a senior reporting/analytics role within the insurance or financial services industry

Strong background in operational reporting, KPI development, and performance tracking

Advanced knowledge of BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and data platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake)

Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
