Are you a passionate and proactive Registered General Nurse with a recognised Occupational Health qualification (Cert/Dip/Degree/Masters)? We’re seeking a dynamic professional ready to take on an exciting challenge in a high-risk environment. Your expertise in clinical leadership, occupational hygiene management, and safety governance will be vital. You will drive clinical compliance, risk management, and service improvement, navigating regulations like the Equality Act, Health and Safety at Work Act, and SEQOHS standards. If you have a strong track record of delivering Occupational Health services within large organisations and thrive on quality governance, innovation, and change implementation, we want to hear from you!

About the role (External)

What does the average day look like?

This role involves shaping the future of occupational health at Network Rail—leading clinical governance, driving health and wellbeing strategies, and ensuring industry standards are met. Daily activities include advising senior leaders, influencing policy, overseeing health risk management, and championing safety and wellbeing innovations. Collaboration across teams and external partners will be essential to deliver improvements that protect our people and enhance the rail industry.

To be successful in this role, you should have (be Essential):

  • Registered General Nurse with a recognised Occupational Health Specialist Nurse qualification (Cert/Dip/Degree/Masters).
  • Relevant experience in clinical leadership, occupational hygiene management, or equivalent.
  • Expertise in working with high-risk environments, safety governance, clinical compliance, risk management, and legal aspects of occupational health.
  • Experience with occupational hygiene and implementing change.
  • Developing regulatory and influencing skills.
  • Expertise in data management, information handling, and reporting.
  • Good understanding of regulations and standards such as the Equality Act, Health and Safety at Work Act, and SEQOHS.
  • Proven experience in leading Occupational Health services within large organisations.
  • Deep understanding of quality governance and improvement.
