An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cwm Taf Morgannwg for two Head of Nursing posts. One post is based in the North of the Health Board in Prince Charles Hospital and the other in the South in the Princess of Wales Hospital. If you have a preferred site, please specify this on your application form. Both hospitals are extremely busy District General Hospitals with Emergency Departments and Critical Care Units. Both deliver care for unscheduled care and planned care patients and services. The Head of Nursing for the acute hospital site is professionally accountable for the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care for services within the sphere of responsibility.

The post holder will be working closely with the Nurse Directors for Planned and Unscheduled Care and Hospital General Managers and nursing colleagues to ensure safe, effective and equitable care and service delivery for our population.

We are seeking an experienced nursing leader with significant post registration experience at a very senior nursing level with highly specialised and in-depth professional knowledge and experience from a range of nursing disciplines across the services of the UHB.

Significant senior operational management experience across healthcare sectors and the ability to work under pressure with advanced decision-making skills is essential. The post holder will have the ability to demonstrate emotional leadership skills and apply to appropriate situations. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, motivate and lead teams of staff is essential for this role.

This is an exciting time to join the University Health Board and you will play an integral part in designing the CTM UHB Acute Clinical Services Plan going forward.
