Overview

The Head of Nuclear Medicine and Imaging role works closely with the Senior Leadership Team to support leadership for the CSD Diagnostics Directorate. The role will foster a cohesive multidisciplinary team and a culture of learning and innovation, underpinned by the Trust's WeCare Values.

This role supports a multi-disciplinary specialty team in strategically delivering priorities, goals and objectives agreed with the Clinical Lead and the Barts Clinical Support Service Director across the domains: Well Led, Responsive, Safe, Effective, and Caring.

The postholder will be accountable for the operational management of the department, overall performance of the team and services in delivering national and local health care priorities, ensuring safe, efficient and quality services, and improving patient experience.

Main duties

The Head of Nuclear Medicine and Imaging role is suitable for emergent and established leaders interested in management and leadership within a healthcare system serving a diverse population in London.

Qualifications

  • Education to Masters level or equivalent qualification and/or experience

  • In-depth knowledge across several management disciplines (e.g., performance management, staff management)
  • Knowledge of use of ionising and non-ionising radiation in healthcare
  • Understanding of risks to patients and staff from equipment/procedural failures
  • Knowledge of national policies and initiatives in imaging services
