We are looking for a Head of Natural Resources MidCorp and Cat Risk (m/f), based in London. Reporting to the Global Head of Natural Resources, you will be responsible for managing, portfolio steering, and growing the Natural Resources MidCorp business.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Ensure an effective underwriting and approval process for business that exceeds local underwriting authority.
• Monitor a consistent underwriting governance framework for Natural Resources by implementing guidelines, principles, and best practices.
• Provide training, guidance, and support to underwriters.
• Develop and execute underwriting strategy and risk appetite for Natural Resources MidCorp in conjunction with Global Line of Business Head, Global Product Leaders, and regional teams.
• Identify market opportunities, target segments, and clients through qualitative analysis and management of LoB portfolio, including profitability analysis.
• Steer the Natural Resources MidCorp portfolio to achieve financial targets, including the use of reinsurance solutions.
• Coordinate with regional LoB heads and global product leaders to prioritize transaction activity for portfolio optimization.
• Review performance of the end-to-end underwriting lifecycle in collaboration with regional MDs and relevant parties.
• Research industry trends, legal, economic, demographic, and distribution factors to inform strategy.
• Recommend new and revised products, underwriting standards, and pricing guidelines; develop and implement pricing tools.
• Support acquisition and retention of business.
• Represent Natural Resources MidCorp internally and externally.
• Expand the global offering to new regions and countries.
• Collaborate with Nat Cat Management and CFO risk teams to align with overall Nat Cat and accumulation strategies, ensuring accurate reporting of Natural Resources values.
• Develop underwriting tools and reports specific to Natural Resources for portfolio management and underwriting support.
• Run catastrophe loss modeling reports and prepare data extracts for loss monitoring, portfolio analysis, CAT limit monitoring, and reinsurance planning.

What You'll Bring to the Role

• Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional insurance qualification (e.g., CII) preferred.
• Proven ability to manage international project teams and engage stakeholders effectively.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and in project management, process design, and improvement.
• Strategic planning skills and ability to develop and communicate strategies addressing industry trends.
• Knowledge of Natural Resources products, underwriting practices, pricing processes, and sales channels.
• Experience with data-driven pricing tools and catastrophe modeling.
• Experience working in complex, global matrix organizations.
• Outstanding analytical skills and ability to incorporate AI insights into work processes.
