A leading healthcare provider seeks an Associate Director of Midwifery to develop and oversee midwifery services. This role emphasizes clinical leadership, ensuring high standards of care, and promoting a collaborative environment within a multidisciplinary team. The candidate will have a significant impact on service quality and patient safety, embodying the values of kindness, integrity, and teamwork.
The post holder will assist the Associate Director of Midwifery and Paediatrics in developing the professional midwifery and neonatal nursing agenda to ensure consistency of practice, high standards of care, and innovation with a strong focus on patient safety. They will collaborate with the Triumvirate to deliver and achieve the group's objectives and contribute to strategic policies for midwifery and maternity services.
They will provide strong clinical leadership and support activities within the Directorate related to delivering high-quality services, inspiring, motivating, and empowering midwives, nurses, and maternity support workers. The post holder will lead delegated projects and activities on behalf of the Associate Director.
The candidate must be an experienced registrant with clinical credibility, capable of providing professional leadership and management to midwives, promoting the highest standards in a learning environment to ensure safe, quality care.
The post holder must adhere to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code and relevant policies and guidelines laid down by the Trust at all times.
They will support the Associate Director in leadership, operational management, professional development, and governance of midwifery and maternity services at HDFT.
Providing expert advice on midwifery issues, clinical governance, quality, risk, and safeguarding is essential.
They will act as a role model, demonstrating respect, dignity, compassion, and upholding equality, diversity, privacy, dignity, and patient advocacy. Working effectively within a multidisciplinary team is crucial.
The post holder will lead developments in practice aligned with national, local, and Directorate care priorities. They will oversee the development of new roles or service redesigns based on best practice and evidence-based care.
Monitoring and measuring Patient Safety, Patient Experience, and Clinical Outcomes to ensure high standards is a key responsibility.
