Salary: £39,739 - 51,545 with TLR 2C (dependent on experience)

Contract type: Fixed-Term (12 month maternity cover)

Working pattern: Full-time

Start date: September 2025

About the role:

We are looking to recruit a Head of MFL (Spanish) who will build a high performing team, to helplead the effective delivery of an outstanding curriculumwhich enables the highest level of scholar progress and attainment.

As Head of MFL, you will lead, develop and manage the effective delivery of an outstanding Spanish curriculum, which enables the highest level of student progress and attainment. You will lead the department andpromote outstanding teaching and learning and a strong school culture within a nurturing and rigorous environment. Additionally, you will ensure that students are prepared and ready to complete community languages GCSE/A-Level when appropriate.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be passionate about teaching Spanish and committed to achieving excellent

    results for their students

  • Demonstrate high levels of ambition and optimism regarding what the academy

    and its students can achieve

  • Have experience of working in a challenging classroom environment,

    implementing and developing schemes to improve behaviour

  • Have experience of leading or coaching and mentoring other colleagues
  • Have experience of improving the teaching and learning of their subject through

    classroom delivery, schemes of work and extra-curricular activities

  • Be committed to Ark’s ethos of high expectations and no excuses.
