We are delighted to partner with a well-respected client of ours for an exciting and crucial role as Head of Merchant Sales. The details on the role are as follows:

What’s your role at the company?

The role reports to the UK Sales Director. The successful appointee will serve as a senior sales leader within the UK business, responsible for all UK sales into National Merchant, Independent Merchant, Merchant Buying Groups, and Industrial Customers. The role leverages the company’s market presence and reputation for high quality, service, and operational excellence.

This position offers an opportunity to strengthen the sales leadership team. The individual will contribute to the overall sales strategy and culture, while leading the development and execution of channel sales performance.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Growing sales revenue and margins
  • Developing and strengthening existing customer relationships
  • Identifying and onboarding new strategic customers
  • Finding value within the service offering to create value-based selling opportunities
  • Leading a Merchant Team of 13 people with 4 direct reports, demonstrating leadership and development skills
  • Supporting the wider UK business's commercial strategy and goals
  • Establishing a broad internal and external network to support growth ambitions
  • Building strong relationships with key trade partners to accelerate customer engagement and grow long-term relationships

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Product margin profitability for UK sawn timber sales
  • Growing volume and sales margin
  • Enhancing the efficiency of UK merchant distribution
  • Supporting wider group commercial aims and targets
