Job Description:

We are delighted to partner with a well-respected client for an exciting role as Head of Merchant Sales. The role reports to the UK Sales Director and involves leading UK sales into National Merchant, Independent Merchant, Merchant Buying Groups, and Industrial Customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing sales strategies, managing a team of 13 (with 4 direct reports), and building strong customer relationships to grow sales revenue and margins.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Grow sales revenue and margins
  • Develop existing customer relationships
  • Onboard new strategic customers
  • Create value-based selling opportunities
  • Lead and develop a merchant team of 13, including 4 direct reports
  • Support UK business's commercial strategy and goals
  • Establish and maintain networks to support growth
  • Build strong relationships with trade partners to enhance customer engagement

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure product margin profitability for UK sawn timber sales
  • Increase volume and sales margin
  • Improve UK merchant distribution efficiency
  • Support group commercial aims and targets
