Salary: A competitive salary from £57,600 - £86,400 depending on the experience you can bring

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Member Communications to join our Workplace Distribution channel and lead our Member Communications Team. This role is critical to the success of the Workplace business in both securing new and retaining existing clients.

As Head of Member Communications you will ultimately be responsible for working in partnership with high value employer clients to deliver tailored communication programmes to meet their needs, presenting both virtually and face to face to their membership.

You will also work closely with the Client Relationship Team throughout the lifetime of the scheme and develop strong relationships with clients to position Aegon as a communication leader in the DC market. You’ll be an inspirational leader who will take our member communications strategy to the next level. This is a role which combines great leadership with deep industry expertise and excellent presentational skills to help members of our key workplace clients engage with and understand their retirement savings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership and oversight including workload and escalation management for the wider team.
  • Identifying the communication objectives and creating tailored communication programmes to meet the client’s needs, working closely with the Client Relationship Director and considering the full range of communication media - which will include digital and face to face member presentations to large audiences.
  • Pro-actively owning the creative development of the DC communication service and strategy
  • Working with our award-winning Pension Geeks engagement specialists to deliver Geeks TV sessions, playing a key role in both the designing and presenting of content.
  • Supporting RFP responses and participating in pitches to both secure new and retain existing schemes.
  • Ensuring a strong governance framework with high standards in QS sampling and identifying and exploring process improvements.
  • Act as an SME stakeholder for all key Marketing and Investment initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills including pitching experience.
  • A strong understanding of the auto-enrolment, Master Trust and contract based and scheme default investment options and how to support employers with their duties, in particular around member retirement options.
  • Experience in designing, running and measuring communication programmes.
  • The ability to apply creativity and identify new ideas to meet the needs of clients.
  • Good planning and organisation capability with strong project management skills.
  • Evidence of relationship management experience and working with clients.
  • A strong track record in achieving objectives/targets and meeting deadlines.
  • A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
