About The Role

As Head of Mechanical Engineering, you'll ensure SEA has the skilled workforce, fit-for-purpose processes, and access to current tools and standards to meet our business objectives.

The Head of Mechanical Engineering can be based at any of our three sites: Bristol, Barnstaple, or Beckington, with regular travel to all sites. The role offers flexible and home working options.

The salary for this role is up to £70,000, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
  • Develop the Mechanical Engineering workforce by establishing, maintaining, and administering a competence and career framework for the discipline, aligned with professional bodies. Set and review development objectives in performance discussions.
  • Undertake direct fee-earning work to stay current and support the discipline, such as chairing engineering gate reviews, evaluating technical feasibility and risk, and reviewing critical deliverables.
  • Act as Process Lead in developing and improving relevant processes, including design, maintenance, communication, monitoring, and continuous improvement of process assets.
