Key Responsibilities of Head of Maths / Permanent Maths Teacher:

• Plan and deliver dynamic Maths lessons tailored to a range of abilities and learning styles.
• Teach Maths to students.
• Lead the Maths department (for Head of Maths applicants), driving curriculum development and staff mentoring.
• Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to support individual growth.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and confidence in numeracy.
• Organise and support extracurricular Maths activities and competitions.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders to enhance the Maths curriculum and student outcomes.
• Uphold health and safety standards in all activities.

Requirements for Head of Maths / Permanent Maths Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Early Career Teacher (ECT), or equivalent overseas qualifications.
• Experience teaching Maths is essential; leadership experience is desirable for Head of Maths applicants.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for mathematics and the ability to inspire students to achieve their full potential.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and collaborative teaching practices.
