Job summary

ARK Schools is seeking a maths leader to drive excellence across the department. The role involves line managing staff, mentoring trainee teachers, and shaping curriculum and enrichment for all year groups. You will foster a positive learning climate by enforcing routines and consistent behaviour systems, with a strong emphasis on maths mastery.

The ideal candidate holds a maths degree and UK teaching qualification, with proven leadership experience and a deep commitment to high-quality pedagogy.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team and developing others.
• Proven ability to improve teaching quality through schemes of work and high-quality resources.
• Strong understanding of maths pedagogy and subject content.
• Evidence of coaching and mentoring trainee teachers or staff.

Responsibilities

• Line manage team members including departmental post holders.
• Ensure post-holders are trained to a high standard.
• Mentor NQTs, ATTs and student teachers through coaching/mentoring.
• Plan, monitor and evaluate curriculum provision and enrichment for all year groups.
• Create a positive learning climate by teaching routines and applying behaviour systems consistently.
