About This Role

“Inspiring Excellence, building Character”

We are looking for a highly ambitious Head of Maths for our Senior Site, who will contribute to the development of an outstanding Maths Department and to drive forward numeracy and love of learning in our expanding school that was recently inspected as a ‘good’ school by Ofsted.

The successful candidate will assist in establishing the direction for teaching, learning and assessment in Maths and numeracy, in-line with the whole-school pedagogical strategy of knowledge-based learning, to set the highest expectations and ensure that all students not only achieve excellent outcomes but flourish within an environment of nurture.

Opportunities for departmental and whole school responsibilities will provide excellent experience for a successful candidate who is looking to progress their career at pace either to excel in the leadership of Maths or towards Senior Leadership in the future and as such, we place as much value on ambition and potential as we do on experience. For a candidate with appropriate experience there is the possibility of a role within the senior team with a whole school responsibility on the leadership scale.

King James Academy Royston, is a through school formed from the amalgamation of two middle schools and an upper school in 2019. Since 2020 it has been part of the Diamond Learning Partnership Trust. It is approximately 12 miles from Cambridge and is within easy access of London.

The Fenlands hub has six academies; Thomas Eaton, Glebelands, Leverington, Murrow, Gorefield and Burrowmoor.
