It is an exciting time at Yate Academy! We are opening a new Sixth Form in September 2025, and we are looking for an enthusiastic subject specialist to become Head of our committed Maths Department. The successful candidate will motivate, challenge, support, and inspire both staff and students. Relevant experience in a similar role with a proven track record is essential. The ability to teach A-level Maths & Further Maths would be an advantage.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee and organize curriculum delivery within the Maths department.
• Ensure availability of full, up-to-date schemes of work for the subject within the Learning Area.
• Encourage the selection of suitable teaching and learning approaches and subject matter, providing a differentiated approach to students.
• Lead, develop, and enhance the teaching practice of others, including participation in performance management and appraisal arrangements.
• Monitor and analyze the academic performance of students regularly and provide relevant reports when requested.
• Devise and implement appropriate intervention strategies.
