Role Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head of Maths to lead our Maths department. The successful candidate will develop and deliver a high-quality Maths curriculum tailored to our students' specific needs. As Head of Maths, you will lead a team of teachers, ensuring inclusive, engaging, and effective teaching approaches that meet the diverse needs of our pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Maths department, providing support and guidance to staff.
• Develop and implement a bespoke Maths curriculum for our students.
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Maths lessons to promote student progress.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted interventions.
• Collaborate with other departments and leadership to promote cross-curricular links and holistic development.
• Ensure teaching resources are accessible and appropriate for students with diverse needs.
• Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Maths teaching and learning.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Mathematics or a related field.
• Experience teaching Maths to students with SEND, preferably in a similar setting.
• Strong leadership and management skills to motivate a team.
• Understanding of diverse learning needs and strategies to support students with complex educational needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to inclusive education and adaptable teaching approaches.
• Knowledge of SEN legislation and SEND best practices.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
