Outwood Academy Redcar serves students aged 11-16 in the scenic coastal town of Redcar near Middlesbrough, North-East England.

This leadership role involves providing academic and pedagogical direction for the department, working closely with the Senior Leadership team to prioritize ‘Students First’. You will inspire and motivate your team, demonstrating the skills and determination to impact students positively.
You should be an excellent teacher with experience at KS3 and KS4, capable of challenging and supporting your team to achieve outstanding results. The Head of Department will work strategically with Trust mathematics leaders and a network of outstanding Heads of Mathematics and Senior Leaders across the Outwood Family of Schools.
There are ample opportunities for professional development within the Trust, including pathways to Senior Leadership or broader roles such as Director of Mathematics across multiple academies, allowing you to develop leadership skills and support more colleagues and students.
