The Marketing team is responsible for advancing UKTV's growth through audience recruitment and retention for our brands and content. The wider Marketing and Communications team includes Communications, Creative, Media Planning, and Social Media. Our award-winning marketing team devises effective, efficient, and innovative strategies and plans for our brands and content genres. UKTV's Marketing team has contributed to the network's strong market share, revenue growth, and the enjoyment of millions of fans across the nation.

Purpose of the role

The Head of Marketing, Unscripted, is primarily responsible for UKTV's unscripted content, leading our marketing efforts in the dynamic broadcast industry. Launching titles such as Pete Wicks For Dogs Sake, Silence is Golden, Emma Willis Delivering Babies, Bangers and Cash, and Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over, the unscripted slate is a key part of UKTV's growth strategy. As a senior member of the Marketing department, this role drives strategy and marketing approach for unscripted content, with direct responsibility for brand and marketing performance. You will develop and implement strategic initiatives to elevate our brand, increase audience engagement, and support revenue growth. This role leads a team experienced in executing comprehensive marketing strategies and collaborates with key stakeholders to influence strategy, drive performance, and enhance creativity and effectiveness.

Experience

  • Extensive experience in a senior marketing role with a proven track record in brand building, brand strategy, advertising campaigns, and measurement.
  • Success in developing and implementing effective marketing strategies, preferably in a B2C environment.
  • Experience in content marketing across linear and VoD platforms.
  • Knowledge of paid media and owned media, with expertise in traditional and digital mediums, working with media agencies.
  • A history of building strong stakeholder relationships and influencing others effectively.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team.

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing trends and technologies.
  • Understanding of commercial targets and brand KPIs, with the ability to deliver marketing plans that drive business growth.

  • Oversee budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and positive ROI, reporting on success metrics.
  • Advocate for the importance of marketing within the business.
  • Collaborate on long-term brand strategies to support sustainable growth and commercial goals.
  • Ensure campaigns are insight-led, targeting diverse audiences.
  • Use data and research to evaluate performance, identify issues, and recommend actions.
  • Work with agency partners and internal teams to translate insights into effective strategies.
  • Support activity prioritization across the network.
  • Manage marketing budgets in partnership with Finance, ensuring financial controls.
  • Contribute to the leadership team, promoting UKTV's values and a culture of diversity and inclusion.
  • Maintain relationships with production companies, producers, and talent as needed.
