Job description

Sitka Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with Cardiff International Airport on this brilliant opportunity for a strategic, creative, and influential marketing leader, someone who will drive the airport’s brand forward and strengthen its voice at home and abroad.

As the new Head of Marketing, Comms & PR, you’ll oversee brand strategy, marketing, PR, and stakeholder relations, and you will play a vital role in helping to position Cardiff Airport as a key player in tourism, economic development, and international connectivity.

You’ll manage a high-performing marcoms team, craft campaigns that make headlines, and build partnerships with airlines, businesses, government, media and communities.

The Job

• Shape, lead and deliver Cardiff Airport’s marketing, brand and communications strategy.
• Elevate its national and international profile through bold campaigns.
• Lead integrated, multi-channel B2C and B2B campaigns to support route development and increase passenger numbers.
• Drive commercial revenue growth from non-aeronautical streams such as parking, retail, and seasonal events.
• Drive engagement with Welsh Government, Visit Wales, business leaders and more.
• Create and deliver a consistent, bilingual (Welsh/English) communications plan across all platforms.

The person specification

• Proven track record in senior marketing or communications leadership roles.
• Deep understanding of stakeholder engagement and public affairs.
• Excellent knowledge of Wales and the Welsh business landscape.
• Experience developing and implementing marketing, communications and engagement strategies.
• Experience communicating complex information clearly and effectively to a diverse range of audiences.
• Experience procuring effective marcoms and stakeholder management tools.
• Experience leading multi-skilled teams, managing budgets, and running integrated campaigns.
• Passion for storytelling, community connection, and brand growth.
• Fluency in Welsh isn’t essential, but a love for and interest in the language and culture is.

Salary & benefits

• Annual salary is £70,000–£75,000 per annum (top end will be offered only for an exceptional candidate)
