Job description

Purpose of the role:

An exciting opportunity exists at Stonegate Group as Head of Marketing – Bars & Venues, to be responsible for the end-to-end brand or format proposition and strategy. This will include activations, sales driving activity, format development and brand partnerships.

Within the Marketing function, our role is to drive the top line. We must create compelling end to end propositions to drive guests through our doors. Once inside our outlet, we will inspire guests to spend more, stay longer and ultimately leave feeling like they have had brilliant value for their experience.

As Head of Marketing – Bars & Venues, you will build a clearly defined strategic plan, to deliver on a set of format objectives and driven by clear data and insight provided by the Insight & Planning team. This will be delivered through your marketing strategy, which will define the channels that will drive your messages to consumers. Our communication must be considered across all channels including in site, social, CRM (via the digital team), social (via the social media managers) and MiXR (via the MiXR team).

You will be a brilliant business partner for your aligned Operations Director, working hand in hand to support shared objectives. The proposition, whilst exciting, must be simple and straightforward to execute and you will consider how you brief operations teams on the plan in the most engaging ways possible.

We will ensure that our format propositions continue to lead the market through simplicity and continual innovation. You will have your finger on the pulse of latest market consumer trends and build agile plans that can meet these consumer demands. You will think creatively and work closely with market leading agencies to deliver market leading campaigns and marketing collateral, using macro insight to create and evolve reasons to visit, tapping into consumer trends with a focus on driving guest penetration and frequency. The role will also work closely with suppliers to deliver co-branded campaigns at scale – these will be aligned with the director of Marketing to ensure that we are obtaining investment for our key strategic pillars.

As Head of Marketing – Bars & Venues, you will be responsible for transforming the advocacy of your formats. This will be delivered through an advocacy strategy that pulls together social channels, influencers, and authentic brand partnerships. You will think out of the box to deliver maximum impact for your budget, to create meaningful connections with guests.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver top-line sales in your format: have a focus on driving guest penetration and frequency within your formats
  • Creating compelling reasons to visit based on consumer insight
  • Developing and delivering effective strategies for your formats that have a laser focus on effective return on investment
  • Working cross-functionally with the Food & Drink Team, Digital Team, Insight & Planning Team and also the MiXR team to unlock more impact
  • Accountable for managing and hitting the delivery of marketing budget for your formats
  • Own the delivery of the annual trading/marketing plan
  • Responsible for mentoring and developing direct reports

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Strong previous experience of marketing and brand management across multiple brands and formats
  • Previous experience in hospitality is preferred
