Job description

Wellington College is one of the world’s leading co-educational boarding and day schools located in rural Berkshire set in a stunning 400-acre campus, home to a blend of breathtaking original architecture and modern state-of-the-art facilities to provide the best possible education environment for our pupils.

We have an exciting opportunity within our Marketing Department for an enthusiastic and experienced Head of Marketing and Communications.

About the role:

You will join on a full-time basis (35 hours per week).

The Head of Marketing and Communications is responsible for overseeing the brand, communications, and marketing of Wellington College (WC) and further building its reputation as one of the most prestigious and pioneering schools in the world.

The successful candidate will focus on the College’s marketing strategy, brand management, admissions marketing, stakeholder engagement, PR, media, as well as internal communications, ensuring consistency in branding and messaging.

Key responsibilities (including but not limited to; see job description for full requirements):

  • Branding, Marketing, and Communications: Develop and deliver the 5-year marketing and communications strategy for Wellington College that showcases the innovative and dynamic educational offer to the 1,150 students.
  • Marketing Campaigns and External Engagement: Develop and implement integrated marketing campaigns to position the College as the leading co-educational boarding and day school in the UK.
  • Internal and Parent Communications: Manage internal communications and parent engagement strategies.
  • Team Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the marketing and communications team effectively.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Significant marketing and communications experience as a senior leader in a large, complex organization.
  • Proven track record of delivering national or global brand strategies.
  • Vocational qualification in relevant discipline (e.g., Marketing, PR, Communications) or equivalent.
  • Degree-level education.
