Job description

Full-time basis (35 hours per week).

Wellington College is one of the world’s leading co-educational boarding and day schools located in rural Berkshire set in a stunning 400-acre campus, home to a blend of breathtaking original architecture and modern state-of-the-art facilities to provide the best possible education environment for our pupils.

We have an exciting opportunity within our Marketing Department who are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Head of Marketing and Communications.

About the role:

The Head of Marketing and Communications is responsible for overseeing the brand, communications and marketing of Wellington College (WC) and further building its reputation as one of the most prestigious and pioneering schools in the world.

The successful candidate will focus on the College’s marketing strategy, brand management, admissions marketing, stakeholder engagement, PR, media as well as internal communications ensuring consistency in branding and messaging.

Key responsibilities (Including but not limited to; see job description for full requirements):

Branding, Marketing and Communications:

  • Directly oversee the development and delivery of the 5-year marketing and communications strategy for Wellington College that showcases the innovative and dynamic educational offer that the College provides the 1,150 students it educates.

Marketing Campaigns and External Engagement:

  • Develop and deliver ongoing integrated marketing campaigns to build and strengthen the College’s position as the leading co-education boarding and day school in the UK.
  • Oversee all strategic messaging and storytelling to ensure Wellington College’s values, achievements, and innovations are communicated effectively to key audiences.

Internal Communications & Parent Communications:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communications strategy that ensures staff, students, and key internal stakeholders are well-informed and aligned with the College’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives.

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and inspire a team of brand and communications professionals, fostering innovation and excellence.

Person Specification:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Significant marketing and communications experience as a senior leader in a large complex organisation.
  • Proven track record of delivering national or global brand strategies.
  • Ideally vocational qualification in relevant discipline i.e. Marketing, PR, Communications or equivalent.
  • Degree level educated.
