Job description

1. POST DETAILS

Title: Head of Marketing and Digital

Location: Magna Science Adventure Centre, Rotherham, S60 1DX

2. REPORTING TO

Chief Executive Officer

3. OVERALL PURPOSE OF POST:

To take ownership of all marketing, advertising, and digital strategies for Magna.

Working across the organization and with partners, to deliver results that enhance reputation, build income, increase audience engagement, advocacy, and develop a strong, recognizable, and trusted brand.

Actively supporting and briefing the CEO, this role will provide high-level management of all marketing initiatives in support of Magna’s vision, mission, and strategic plans.

4. MAIN DUTIES OF THE ROLE:

  1. Devise and deliver Magna’s marketing and communications strategy and brand to showcase all aspects of Magna’s work, leading to measurable outcomes such as audience growth, diversification, income uplift, and development.
  2. Take ownership of Magna’s digital presence, including the website and social media channels. Manage content creation and marketing communications across all relevant media.
  3. Create and implement impactful multi-channel marketing campaigns based on data and insights; identify opportunities and lead media campaigns to promote Magna’s offerings, events, and branding.
  4. Develop and manage the marketing and advertising budget to maximize impact with available resources.
  5. Use an audience-focused approach, working across the organization to embed this strategy. Manage content creation and marketing communications across digital channels and social media.
  6. Provide regular reports and recommendations to the CEO and Trustees regarding KPIs, opportunities, and progress against strategic goals. Assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and optimize accordingly.
  7. Develop and promote the venue as a film location.
  8. Actively support and demonstrate the organization’s values in all activities.
  9. Be an ambassador for Magna.

5. OTHER DUTIES:

  • Undertake other duties at a comparable level of responsibility as required.

6. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Occasional evening, weekend, and bank holiday work may be required for the success of the organization.
  1. PERSONAL CONTACT:

a) Internal: Members of Magna staff, Trustees, and Trading Company Directors.

b) External: Business community members, visitors, event organizers, media, advertising agencies, VIPs, consultants, and film production companies.

HEALTH AND SAFETY:

a. Ensure health and safety compliance in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and related regulations within your area of responsibility.

b. Report any work situations that may pose serious or imminent dangers or safety shortcomings.

c. Be aware of health and safety implications when working with large industrial objects.
