If you’re a marketing leader, who loves the challenge of rolling your sleeves up and wants the chance to be instrumental in a growing financial services business, this is the role for you!

The Head of Marketing and Brand will play a pivotal role in the ongoing technology and brand transformation journey of this business. This is a rare opportunity to join a purpose-led organisation who is committed to redefining what kinder, community-focused banking means in 2025 and beyond.

About the Role

As Head of Marketing, you’ll lead a multi-disciplinary team of experts across brand, digital marketing, PR, paid media, social, content, acquisition, B2B marketing, and SEO. This role will be central to evolving and delivering the external communication strategy during a time of significant transformation, while ensuring that the organisation’s purpose is embedded in every customer touch point.

This is a strategic leadership role, accountable for building brand awareness, driving acquisition across lending and savings products, managing reputational risk, and ensuring effective delivery of integrated marketing campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing marketing, brand, and communications team.
  • Shape and execute the marketing strategy to support a major technology and cultural transformation.
  • Build and protect brand reputation through compelling communications, media relations and purpose-led campaigns.
  • Oversee reporting and performance measurement of all marketing activity across digital, PR, brand, and acquisition channels.
  • Deliver the external communications plan, managing crisis communications and reputational risks where required.
  • Drive community engagement and giving through partnerships and social impact initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with the senior leadership team to align marketing efforts with broader business goals.
  • Manage agency relationships, ensuring timely and budget-conscious execution of strategic initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience in leading medium to large marketing teams, ideally within regulated industries (financial services experience, advantageous).
  • Proven track record in driving successful marketing strategies through large-scale digital or technology transformations.
  • Strong multichannel marketing experience, including B2C and B2B.
  • Deep understanding of purpose-driven branding, customer-centric communications, and loyalty-building strategies.
  • Skilled in marketing performance reporting and data-led decision-making.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Experience in crisis communications, media handling, and reputation management.
  • A relevant marketing qualification (e.g. CIM, IDM, or equivalent) is essential.

Key Behaviours and Skills

  • Purpose-led leadership with the ability to inspire through empathy and clarity.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; able to work cross-functionally at all levels.
  • A deep understanding of brand strategy and regulatory marketing compliance.
  • High levels of resilience, adaptability, and the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a natural flair for storytelling.
