Job summary

Galaxy seeks a Head of Market Data to lead data acquisition, governance and optimization for digital and traditional assets. You will work across trading, technology, and vendors to deliver scalable, compliant data services supporting trading, research and risk systems.

You will manage cost, lead a multidisciplinary team, and partner with engineering to build robust data pipelines while embracing AI to boost performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of market data management experience in a trading firm, hedge fund, or financial institution.
• Deep knowledge of market data vendors, exchanges, and licensing models.
• Proven track record negotiating vendor contracts and managing large budgets.
• Experience with low-latency data systems, data feeds, APIs, and streaming technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail; excellent communication with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a unified market data strategy across centralized crypto exchanges, decentralized venues, and traditional markets.
• Design scalable, low-latency data architecture supporting tick-level, order book, and on-chain data.
• Evaluate build vs. buy decisions for internal data platforms vs. external providers.
• Build relationships with crypto exchanges, data aggregators, and node providers.
• Oversee ingestion of real-time data and reference datasets; ensure data quality and governance.
