Job Description:

We have been retained by a specialist manufacturing company based in the Manchester area to source a Head of Manufacturing to improve their current operation and position the business for future growth. This organisation is in the process of establishing itself as a leader in its field. A fantastic opportunity to help implement and drive improvements across a growing SME manufacturer, now part of a larger group.

The role involves heading up a multi-disciplined team in a multi-process manufacturing environment; you will be responsible for championing lean principles and refining manufacturing operations. Your responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing a robust manufacturing strategy based on first principles.
• Driving operational improvements to meet strategic business objectives.
• Being visible on the manufacturing floor to understand processes and facilitate change.
• Developing high-performing, improvement-led teams.
• Producing and enhancing production and capacity planning models.
• Working cross-functionally as a key member of the SMT to support business growth.

Ideal candidates will be experienced manufacturing professionals with a proven track record in management within a growing multi-process manufacturing environment. You should have experience in process improvement, a strong leadership style, and a hands-on approach. Engagement, proactivity, and drive are essential traits. Experience in the building products sector is advantageous but not essential.
