Job Description – Head of Manufacturing
Location – Precision Polymer Engineering Ltd, Blackburn, UK
Hours of work 37.5 hours Monday to Friday
Reporting to Site Lead
Line Manager for Production Manager and Planning Manager
(Reporting line and direct reports subject to change)

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Manufacturing to lead our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong background in manufacturing management and a proven track record of driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production schedules are met and quality standards are maintained.
Manage and mentor the manufacturing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Monitor and optimize production processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Collaborate with other departments, including supply chain, quality assurance, and engineering, to ensure seamless operations.
Prepare and manage the manufacturing budget, including capital expenditures and operational costs.
Report on manufacturing performance to senior management and the parent corporation.
Drive innovation and the adoption of new technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working within a larger corporate structure is an advantage.
Proficiency in manufacturing software and tools.
