Marc Daniels are working with a growing and highly successful organisation who are looking to recruit an experienced Head of Management Accounts to lead their management accounting function.

This is a highly visible leadership role, responsible for delivering accurate and insightful financial reporting, leading a sizeable team, and driving continuous improvement across management accounting processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with professional body membership.
• Experience leading a management accounts function in a medium/large organisation.
• Strong people management experience.
• Extensive experience delivering monthly management accounts, budgeting and forecasting.

Responsabilités

• Lead, develop and mentor the Management Accounts team.
• Own the monthly management accounts process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities with senior stakeholders.
• Provide insightful analysis and commentary on financial performance.
• Ensure robust balance sheet controls across the finance function.
• Drive continuous improvement for reporting quality, efficiency and controls.
• Lead month-end close, improving timelines and output quality.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to support strategic decisions.
• Develop and enhance financial reporting packs for Executive and Board-level stakeholders.
• Support year-end statutory accounts and audits.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards and governance frameworks.
• Lead finance transformation initiatives and automation projects.
• Establish KPIs and performance measures for the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and mentor the Management Accounts team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Take ownership of the monthly management accounts process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities in partnership with senior stakeholders.
• Provide insightful analysis and commentary on financial performance, highlighting key variances, risks and opportunities.
• Ensure robust balance sheet controls and reconciliations are maintained across the finance function.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting quality, efficiency and control.
• Lead and optimise the month-end close process, reducing timelines and improving output quality.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to support strategic decision-making.
• Develop and enhance financial reporting packs for Executive and Board-level stakeholders.
• Support year-end statutory accounts preparation and external audit requirements.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, financial controls and governance frameworks.
• Lead finance transformation projects, including process improvements, system enhancements and automation initiatives.
• Establish KPIs and performance measures for the management accounting team.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience leading a Management Accounts function within a medium or large-scale organisation.
• Strong people management experience, with a track record of developing and managing high-performing teams.
• Extensive experience delivering monthly management accounts, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial controls.
• Demonstrable experience driving process improvements and finance transformation initiatives.
• Experience leading and optimising month-end close activities.
• Advanced stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Experience working with complex ERP systems and reporting tools.
