Job summary

Marc Daniels is seeking an experienced Head of Management Accounts to lead the management accounting function and deliver accurate financial reporting. The role oversees a sizeable team, drives month-end close improvements, and partners with senior stakeholders on budgeting and forecasting.

You will mentor high-performing staff, implement controls, and drive continuous improvement across processes and systems to support executive decision-making and governance.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience leading a Management Accounts function within a medium or large-scale organisation.
• Strong people management experience, with a track record of developing and managing high-performing teams.
• Extensive experience delivering monthly management accounts, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial controls.
• Demonstrable experience driving process improvements and finance transformation initiatives.
• Experience leading and optimising month-end close activities.
• Advanced stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and mentor the Management Accounts team, fostering a high-performance culture.

• Lead and optimise the month-end close process, reducing timelines and improving output quality.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to support strategic decision-making.
• Develop and enhance financial reporting packs for Executive and Board-level stakeholders.
• Support year-end statutory accounts preparation and external audit requirements.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, financial controls and governance frameworks.
• Lead finance transformation projects, including process improvements, system enhancements and automation initiatives.
• Establish KPIs and performance measures for the management accounting team.
