ABOUT THE ROLE

As this is a Bank position to provide cover as and when we need it, such as for annual leave or sick leave, the hours and days you work will vary.

As a Head of Maintenance (Bank - 0 hours) at a Barchester care home, you'll ensure a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs effectively. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first-class care and support.

You can expect variety in this role. You'll handle various tasks within the care home building, gardens, and grounds. Tasks may include fixing a leaky tap or planting bulbs. You should be comfortable working independently, leading a team, and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. Additionally, you will liaise with contractors for jobs outside your team's expertise.

ABOUT YOU

The wellbeing of our residents will be your top priority. You will ensure all work is carried out with sensitivity to their needs. With hands-on property maintenance experience, you'll have at least one trade skill and ideally a proven ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks. Reliability and flexibility regarding working hours are essential. A full UK driving licence, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) are required.
