Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you'll ensure a clean and well-maintained environment where residents feel at home and staff can perform their duties effectively. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first-class care and support.

You can expect variety in this role. You'll handle various tasks within the care home building, gardens, and grounds—ranging from fixing leaks to planting bulbs. You should be comfortable working independently, leading a team, and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. Additionally, you'll liaise with contractors for specialized jobs outside your team's scope.

ABOUT YOU

The wellbeing of our residents is your top priority. You will ensure all maintenance work is carried out with sensitivity to their needs. With hands-on property maintenance experience and at least one trade skill, you should be capable of undertaking a wide range of tasks. Reliability, flexibility with working hours, a full UK driving license, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) are required.
