Head of Maintenance Operations

Venn Group have partnered with a prestigious Central Government organisation to recruit a Head of Maintenance Operations on a permanent basis.

You will be part of the senior management team and will be responsible for setting professional and technical standards as well as participating in wider strategic management issues.

You will assume overall responsibility for managing the operation, maintenance and repair of the estates building services systems utilising a team of mechanical, electrical and building fabric technical officers, craft persons and contractors in order to meet agreed KPIs and maximise operational availability.

Location: Central London

Duration: Permanent

Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, 36 hours a week, 4 days a week onsite and 1 day remote

Key Duties:

• To provide effective leadership and management of the maintenance operations teams, ensuring all work is delivered and managed against SLA’s

• You will provide effective leadership in across a range of scenarios, directing staff to undertake remedial actions in a safe manner providing senior management support and liaising with senior stakeholders

• Hold regular monthly contract performance meetings and monitor against SLA agreements and KPI requirements

• Develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of the engineering services throughout the Estate, in particular the 11 KV network, steam boilers, heating and cooling distribution networks

• Provide technical advice to Planned Maintenance Manager ensuring a comprehensive and compliant planned maintenance regime is in place

• Maintain statutory compliance completion of statutory inspections on all assets under the control of the Engineer Control Team

• Undertake procurement of related maintenance contracts including production of technical specifications and leading on tender evaluation boards

The successful candidate must have:

• Member or working towards a relevant professional institute such as CIBSE, IMechE or IET

• Experience in performance management, KPI’s and managing a workforce

• A desire to maintain estate services standards, and customer care

• Significant experience of managing the operation and maintenance of complex building services

• Previous experience of managing budgets and contracts in excess of £5m in value
